About BTOG

The British Transport
Officer Guild is the only trade union established exclusively for the
representation of managers, engineers and other professionals in the
Transport Industries.
We believe in
responsible representation. Because of their position within the
organisation, many managerial and professional (M&P) staff do not
benefit from traditional trade union collective pay negotiations. However,
in the increasingly complex arena of employment legislation, M&P staff
will still need access to advice and information about their employment.
The British Transport
Officers' Guild has many years experience in both individual and collective
negotiations on all aspects of terms and conditions. We can help those
working in any professional discipline, in any area of the country. We can
give you assistance to negotiate with your employer on equal terms.
We also aim to encourage
the effective and efficient working of the transport industry, as we know
our members have an interest in standards and quality. We want our members
to get fair recognition for the responsibility of their role.
BTOG is a democratic
union run by its members for the benefit of its members. It gains from
being part of Amicus' Federation of Professional Associations, although it
is autonomous in its policies and dealings with employers.
BTOG does not operate a
political fund and no part of members' subscriptions go to Amicus'
political fund unless requested on an individual basis.
If you have a
professional or managerial role in the Transport Industries, join us.
